National Volunteer Week is April 16-22, 2023. TRO is a volunteer-led association, meaning that our volunteers are integral to every working gear at TRO. Our volunteers help by creating a shining community and connecting us all together. Without our volunteers, we wouldn’t be able to offer a well-rounded organization. A HUGE thank you for all the hard work that our volunteers have done for us this year. We appreciate the dedication and passion you all have for TR and TRO.
Today we’re highlighting Andrea Laforge!
Andrea Laforge works at Ontario Shores Centre for Mental Health. Andrea has volunteered with TRO on a couple of committees and several events. Her favourite experiences have been volunteering at the TRO conference as it is an incredible way to meet new people, network, and attend conference as a student. Since her volunteer experience at conference, she now sits on the 2023 TRO Conference Planning Committee as well as the Practice Review Committee! Andrea’s volunteer experience has, “enhanced [her] communication and organizational skills which is beneficial in any career”.
Andrea’s journey from starting as a student volunteer at conference to now sitting on the planning committee is inspirational. We hope that, like Andrea, our current students find passion in the conference and will sit on the conference committees moving forward. We’re excited to see what other opportunities TRO can offer Andrea as TRO continues to expand and grow. We will be looking to fill out our 2024 Conference Planning Committee, so keep an eye out for more information about that.
Thank you, Andrea, for all your hard work that keeps TRO moving forward. Can’t wait to see you all at conference in June. Take some time and say thank you to Andrea!
What a great write up about your time with TRO! Thank you for your time, dedication and commitment to TRO. You are a valuable member of the PRC committee. Thank you for your support and your knowledge and expertise. Vicki
