Recreation Therapist, Aquatics TeamKayla’s Children Centre, Thornhill, ONKayla’s Children Centre is looking to expand their aquatics team with individuals who are passionate about swimming and Recreational Therapy! We are looking for a dedicated, enthusiastic and experienced individual to support KCC’s vision of providing individualized, meaningful, high quality and aquatic programming for children with and without disabilities. Days and Hours: Sunday to Thursday – mid morning to evening (35+ hours) Fridays and Saturdays off Responsibilities: Plan, organize and implement or oversee various aquatic programming to meet the needs of participants (including class groups, instructional swim and recreational programs). Carrying out preventative facility maintenance and documentation to comply with legislative standards, meeting public expectations and protect facility assets. Implement facility policies. Preparation of lesson plans, record of participant progress and goals, attendance and worksheets on completion of each instructional session. Skills and Qualifications: NLS certification (required or willing to get it), Standard First Aid (required), Experience working with children with disabilities, Ability to work effectively as a member of a multi-disculinary team, Excellent interpersonal an communication skills to communicate effectively with students, parents and other professionals. |
Part-Time Recreational TherapistMemory Lane Home Living, Richmond Hill, ONMemory Lane Home Living Inc (MLHL Inc) is a registered charity which offers an alternative, empowering way of living for women with a dementia diagnosis. We also offer a variety of programs, respite care, and educational resources in a home environment, to enable families and their loved ones to thrive on their dementia journey and to age well in a community setting. Memory Lane is looking for a part time semi-retired Recreational Therapist to supervise our placement students, 3 times a week (Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday 11am to 4 pm). This person will have experience and be culturally sensitive to the needs of seniors and dementia. As a seasoned recreation therapist, you will guide, direct and supervise programming with our placement students and volunteers. You will assist with the orientation and documentation of volunteers. At Memory Lane we promote the butterfly model of care philosophies and the Montessori Methods. Ideally you will reside in Richmond Hill or York Region. Job Types: Part-time, Permanent |
