TRO Volunteer Opportunities

About Volunteering on a TRO Committee

For over 20 years, volunteers have played an integral role in advancing the profession and supporting the initiatives Therapeutic Recreation Ontario. We wouldn’t be where we are today without the support of our volunteers.

The application form below is to volunteer on one of TRO’s Committees. Each Committee meets once per month to discuss and work towards the initiatives that fall under that Committee’s responsibilities. Additional hours may be requested of each volunteer outside of regular meetings times to fulfill the duties of the Committee.

To apply to volunteer on a TRO Committee, please complete the form below.

Please note that this application is to volunteer at the organization of Therapeutic Recreation Ontario, not in a position as a Recreation Therapist. Volunteering with TRO is not a replacement for an internship.

Not all of TRO’s committees are currently open to volunteers. You will be contacted should an opportunity on a committee become available.

TRO is a virtual organization, therefore all volunteer opportunities are conducted online, with the exception of any in-person events.

There are guidelines in place that limit the number of student or recent graduate volunteers per Committee.
